and celebrity engineer Grant Imahara have begun an "Empowering Innovation Together" campaign that will showcase some of the industry’s most innovative and creative work. The Texas-based electronics distributor announced the partnership at the Electronica 2014 exhibit in Munich, Germany, this week, kicking off the partnership with a live appearance and interviews with Imahara at Mouser’s booth on Tuesday, November 11.
Imahara is best known for his work in the series’ Mythbusters and Battlebots, but he is also the inventor behind many famous robotic characters, including the Star Wars prequel-era R2-D2, the Late Late Show’s Craig Ferguson sidekick Geoff Peterson, the talking robot, and the rhythmic arms on the modern-day Energizer Bunny. He joins Mouser as a collaborator and spokesperson who “shares Mouser’s passion to positively influence and support innovative design,” according to the distributor.
"I've been a Mouser customer for over 20 years," said Imahara. "Their components have been a part of the DNA of almost all my major projects. It's always been a great experience; so when they reached out to me with the ‘Empowering Innovation Together’ campaign, I was truly excited about the opportunity. I'm looking forward to working with Mouser to empower and inspire more engineers like me."
Mouser adds that the campaign emphasizes its commitment to the engineering community in bringing them the newest products and information to inspire new designs.
"Mouser is thrilled to announce our new partnership with renowned engineer Grant Imahara," said company President and CEO Glenn Smith. "Together, it's a great partnership because we provide the newest products and technologies, and Grant provides the inspiration and engineering expertise."
