“Mixed Model Line Design Workshop” To Be Held In July

Author Richard Rahn will host a workshop regarding mixed model line design at Toyota’s Material Handling USA National Customer Center, July 15-17 

Training and consulting company Leonardo Group announced a workshop to be held at Toyota’s Material Handling USA National Customer Center in Columbus, Ind., July 15 and 17. The workshop will feature Richard Rahn, author of The Complete Guide to Mixed Model Line Design and principal of Leonardo Group America. The program will offer progressive knowledge for Lean Manufacturing and a guide on how to execute Mixed Model Line Design. Rahn says he wants to help practitioners feel confident in the area of multi-product manufacturing, which is where he says he believes the manufacturing industry is headed.

All participants will: learn the Line Design Mixed Model Roadmap; apply tools learned to a line design simulation; use Excel-based line design tools and templates to calculate Takt time, resources, and apply line balancing methods; and, receive a copy of Rahn’s textbook.  Additionally, Rahn will offer information on as setting target volumes correctly, learning the five main balancing tools, and creating and testing conceptual layouts. Toyota will also be leading two tours through their facility.
