TLC Electronics Hosts Twin Cities Unmanned Vehicle and Robotics Event

As Jon Crofford becomes president of TLC Electronics, the distributor—along with AUVSI and Robotics Alley—supports public-private partnership for robotics research with networking event.

On January 23, TLC Electronics held the Twin Cities Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s (AUVSI) networking event at its facility in St. Paul, Minn. AUVSI is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing unmanned systems and the robotics community. Members of the group have access to many services, including industry news and publications, global networking opportunities, meetings and events, student competitions, and career services.   The meeting also was sponsored by Robotics Alley, an organization founded by the Minnesota High Tech Association and ReconRobotics Robotics Alley aims to spur public-private partnerships in the research and development of robotics systems. The group also hosts its own conference and exposition in Minnesota’s Twin Cities annually.

In other TLC news, the company named Jon Crofford president, effective January 28. Crofford has a BA from the University of Wisconsin Stout and has been with TLC Electronics since 2006. TLC Electronics’ CEO Rich Crofford said: “Jon is a creative thinker, an excellent communicator and we are excited that he has accepted the challenge to become the key leader of the TLC Electronics’ management team.” TLC Electronics is based in St. Paul, Minn., and is a distributor of interconnect and electromechanical products.
