Heard in the Channel: Mouser Launches Enhanced Energy Harvesting Site

Online resource provides latest products and technical information on energy harvesting

Mouser Electronics announced enhancements to its Energy Harvesting microsite this month, adding new featured products, technical articles, and other resources. The site provides a detailed overview of advances in solar, thermal, piezo, and RF energy harvesting technologies as well as a thorough look at leading energy-storage technologies. As part of the distributor's applications and technologies offering, the site helps design engineers identify ideal products for their designs along with technical resources and other information.

“To help engineers stay updated on the latest developments in energy harvesting, the site also features new technical articles that cover topics such as applications for energy harvesting, systems power, and energy conservation,” Mouser said in a statement announcing the upgrade. “Along with technical articles, users have access to videos, white papers, and other technical resources from some of the leading manufacturers of energy harvesting products.”

In other company news, Mouser announced the addition of Alipay to its line-up of payment options for customers in China. Alipay is a commonly used online payment option in China. Mouser already uses another local payment option—UnionPay—and both allow the company to do business using the Chinese Renminbi.

“What this all means is streamlined transactions and even stronger customer support throughout China,” says Mark Burr-Lonnon, Mouser’s senior vice president of APAC Business. “Alipay is one of the most commonly used online payment options in China with several hundred millions of registered accounts. With Alipay, Union Pay and Renminbi, we are now able to fully support the China market.”

“The significance of adding additional payment options and conducting business in RMB is more than just enabling the use of local currency,” he adds. “This progressive step allows us to provide an even smoother and quicker door-to-door delivery service to all Chinese customers without the hassle and added costs of customs’ clearance and handling fees, which will now be built into one convenient price.”
