Laird Rolls Out Thin, Ceiling- and Wall-Mounted Wideband Antennas

New antennas said to improve in-building wireless telecommunications and deliver consistent, reliable Internet connectivity.

Laird introduced its new CFS Low Passive Intermodulation (PIM) Ultra-Low profile antennas, which are 7 mm thick, or about half the thickness of a smartphone. According to a company press release, the antennas improve in-building wireless telecommunications and deliver consistent, reliable Internet connectivity, further enabling the Internet of Things (IoT).

Because they are so thin and require 8 to 40% less wall or ceiling space, the antennas are less visible on walls or ceiling panels and can even be hidden behind wall pictures. The mobile technology manufacturer says its patent-pending innovation radiates an indoor signal up to 20 percent more efficiently than other in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) antennas on the market.
