July 29, 2014
ADI expands RF and Microwave group; plus news from Mouser Electronics, XMA Corp., TLC Electronics, and more.

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has completed the purchase of Hittite Microwave Corporation for $79 per share—or roughly $2 billion. The acquisition will strengthen ADI’s innovation capability across the entire frequency spectrum of RF, microwave, and millimeter wave applications.

Rick D. Hess, former president and CEO of Hittite Microwave, will lead ADI’s new RF and Microwave Group (RFMG). The new group will pool product and technology development teams from Hittite Microwave and ADI’s RF and Microwave Group.

“We are delighted to join forces with ADI, a premier company that shares Hittite’s passion for solving complex challenges for customers,” Hess said when the acquisition was announced earlier this summer. “I look forward to joining Analog Devices and I am confident our combined efforts will accelerate the course of innovation throughout cellular and microwave communications infrastructure, automotive, industrial instrumentation, aerospace, and defense.”
