Mouser Launches Development Tools Center

Dec. 2, 2014
Newest addition to Mouser.com provides easy access to wide selection of development tools.

Electronic components distributor Mouser Electronics announced its newest offering on Mouser.com this week. The company launched a Development Tools Center that puts online tools and resources in one place, making it easier for developers to access a wide range of tools and services.

The time-saving microsite includes a development tool selection guide where customers can choose from tools for products including microcontrollers, analog and digital ICs, LED lighting, optoelectronics, wireless, and more.

Products available include compilers, evaluation and development boards, emulators, starter kits, and reference designs.

"Engineering development tools are a key element of the design process," Kevin Hess, Mouser’s vice president of technical marketing, said in a statement announcing the microsite. "Our new Dev Tool Center allows engineers to choose from thousands of tools, helping them find the right tool for their requirements, speeding their time to market."

Users can sort and select tools by category and by manufacturer. Embedded processor development tools can be sorted by architectures such as AVR, ARM, MSP430, and more, for instance. Categories for sensor development tools include acceleration, current sensor, magnetic sensor, temperature, and touch sensor development tools. Developers also can review the newest design resources under the "Featured Development Tools" section. Software and other downloads include Mouser's free MultiSIM BLUE software as well as Altera’s Quartus® II software, STMicroelectronics' STM32 Java software, and the Keil Tools MDK-PRO.
